Birmingham Indie-rock quartet Sick City Club have been forging quite the reputation for themselves in the last year, sharing the stage with music giants such as Kano, Wiley, Zane Lowe, The Troubadours and Robots in Disguise. 2010 finally sees the release of the bands long awaited debut album ‘Talking With Lies’, produced by recording engineer legend Gavin Monaghan (Editors, The Smiths, Kings of Leon).

The band pride themselves on the shear variety showcased on this album, whether it be the up-tempo bass grooves of ‘Thought She Was Leaving’, the marching and appropriately country-tinged ‘Country Lane’, the charming, melancholic electro sounds of ‘Derry’, or the melodic and affirming relationship break up tune ‘Let Go’, described affectionately as a “great f*cking tune” by The Twang drummer Matty Clinton. Fantastically catchy second single ‘Embarrassing Monday’ (available now) is the type of quintessentially British anthemic, sound-of-summer tune which wouldn’t sound out of place on Radio 1 - in fact, presenter Nick Grimshaw is already a fan stating that ‘Talking With Lies’ is an awesome album which has already been on regular circulation in the Radio 1office.

With enough integrity to capture heart of any die-hard indie fan and just the right amount pop persuasion to attract everyone else, it won’t be long until Sick City Club’s reputation and fan base soars increasingly skyward.
